(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s shrimp exports reached nearly 940 million USD in the first quarter of this year, up 37% against the same period in 2024. According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), the strong growth is driven by a robust recovery in demand from several major markets, particularly the United States, China, and Japan.

China and Hong Kong (China) emerged as the standout markets, with total export turnover soaring to 288 million USD, up 125%.
Vietnam’s shrimp exports to the US, the European Union, and Japan also recorded significant increases during the first few months of the year.
VASEP asked seafood exporters to capitalize on market opportunities, invest in deep processing and brand building, and promoting the Vietnamese shrimp industry as a model of sustainability and transparent quality standards.
