President Trump posted on the social media platform Truth Social on Sunday, “We should spend less time worrying about Putin, and more time worrying about migrant rape gangs, drug lords, murderers, and people from mental institutions entering our Country - So that we don't end up like Europe!”
The statement came as Trump was criticized for changing his approach toward Russia on Ukraine after a heated exchange between him and President of Ukraine earlier at the White House on February 28. The recent shift has raised concern across Europe and among the US Democratic Party. But the majority of Republican congress people voiced support for President Trump's new approach to reach an agreement that can help end the Russia-Ukraine conflict and have a new start with Russia.
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Sunday ordered a pause on all of the country's cyber operations against Russia, including offensive actions, according to multiple US media reports. This move is seen as part of an effort to persuade Russia to join negotiations on the Ukraine conflict. However, the duration or extent of the pause is unclear.
