In May 2024, Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company put into operation the Ho Chi Minh City-Con Dao high-speed boat service with the travel time between the two destinations only 4 hours.
However, in later July the same year, the investor announced a temporary suspension of operation due to inconvenience for passengers to access the port, Saigon-Hiep Phuoc Port (Nha Be District), which is far away from the center of Ho Chi Minh City.
