Laos learns from Vietnam's experience in port management, operations, and logistics services
(VOVWORLD) - Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone said that the Vietnamese government, by enabling Laos to operate at Vung Ang port in Ha Tinh province, has demonstrated strong support for Laos and given the landlocked country access to the sea.

This has significantly boosted trade between the two countries, particularly in agricultural products, minerals, and electricity, PM Siphandone said during a recent visit to Tan Cang-Cat Lai port of the Saigon Newport Corporation.
He credited the contributions of Vietnamese defense and security enterprises, particularly the Saigon Newport Corporation, which has organized trade connection workshops for domestic and foreign businesses operating in Laos, and has mobilized transportation for Lao goods at Vung Ang port.
Laos appreciates the model of military enterprises participating in Vietnam's economic development, the PM said. He noted that his visit will help Laos gain experience in managing and operating port logistics services.
