This year Quang Ninh aims to complete the riverside road from the Ha Long-Hai Phong expressway to Dong Trieu town and the intersection at the Mac Dynasty Lagoon area, and upgrade National Highway 279 and provincial road 342.

13 bridges and intersections are being built on the road connecting the Ha Long-Hai Phong expressway to Dong Trieu town. With a total investment of 256 million USD, this 40-kilometer road is a key traffic axis for the development of Quang Ninh’s western region. The Lai Xuan bridge connecting Quang Ninh and Hai Phong will soon be completed.

Last year Quang Ninh province completed several key transportation projects, including the renovation of Provincial Road 342, which connects Ha Long City and Ba Che district to Lang Son province, and the Ben Rung bridge, linking Quang Ninh and Hai Phong city. The province is currently working on 58 of 73 rural road renovation projects, with 40 projects nearly finished.

Hoang Quang Hai, Director of the provincial Department of Transport, said: “Transportation infrastructure is the foundation for the development of economic sectors, particularly economic zones, industrial parks, and industrial clusters, as well as tourism and service industries. It drives economic growth in mountain areas, helping to reduce regional disparities.”

Takeshi Omika, Deputy General Director of the Amata Ha Long Urban Joint Stock Company, the investor of Song Khoai Industrial Park, said Quang Ninh’s significant investment in transport infrastructure creates favorable conditions for investors. Song Khoai Industrial Park benefits from excellent transport connectivity with numerous seaports and logistics centers.

Completing the transportation infrastructure is one of the key priorities supporting Quang Ninh's target of 14% GRDP growth this year.
