(VOVworld) – A wide range of activities will be held to mark the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam Youth Federation on October 15, the Federation’s Central Committee said at a press conference in Hanoi on Monday.

A celebration program from September 5 to October 15 will feature a festival dubbed “I love my motherland” at the Lung Cu flagpole in Dong Van district in the northern province of Ha Giang and at the Dat Mui eco-tourism site in Ngoc Hien district in the southern province of Ca Mau.
Participants will visit and present gifts to disadvantaged and social welfare families and provide free health check-ups and medicines for 600 people in the two provinces.
Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation Nguyen Phi Long said: “The celebrations will continue to focus on the tradition of Vietnamese young people and the Federation. These activities will help them feel prouder of Vietnam’s history and the revolutionary tradition of Vietnamese youths and the Vietnam Youth Federation and encourage in young people a sense of bettering themselves for national construction and raising high the volunteer spirit for social security and community life.”
A commemoration and award ceremony will be held in Hanoi on October 13.
