(VOVworld) – 6 collectives were honored for their contributions to the Youth Union’s development and improvement of people’s living conditions at a ceremony to mark the 83rd anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union, held Sunday in Ho Chi Minh City.

The same day, another ceremony was held in the northern province of Yen Bai to launch a Youth Union program to promote traffic safety and mark the 2014 Youth Volunteer Year and Youth Festival of Traffic Culture. Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho spoke at the event:
“We hope the Youth Union at all levels will carry out activities to promote traffic safety, a key task for this Year of Youth Volunteers, in which every union member is an enthusiastic communicators. The National Committee on Traffic Safety will closely coordinate with the Central Youth Union to implement communication activities to encourage youth union members to obey traffic safety regulations.
On this occasion, hundreds of Vietnamese Youth Union members and students in Russia attended a meeting at the Vietnamese Embassy in Moscow to mark the 83rd anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union.
