(VOVworld) – ASEAN will continue to be a focus in Malaysia’s foreign policy, Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman told a press conference on Tuesday on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM Retreat). The meeting is held on Tuesday and Wednesday in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

Anifah Aman said that during its ASEAN chairmanship, Malaysia will exert more efforts to build the ASEAN Community and develop ASEAN’s Community Vision. Malaysia will enhance people-to-people exchanges among ASEAN countries and support small and medium-sized enterprises, which account for 97 per cent of ASEAN’s enterprises. Malaysia’s other priorities include ensuring regional peace and stability and improving ASEAN’s role in the international arena.
