(VOVWORLD) -A photo exhibition spotlighting Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos and the 70-year legacy of the Vietnam People’s Navy in safeguarding the nation’s seas, opened on Monday in Khanh Hoa province.

On display are documents, photos, and artifacts that trace Vietnam’s historical claims to Hoang Sa and Truong Sa, Vietnam’s combat readiness to defend its maritime sovereignty, and the Vietnamese navy’s feats of arms.
In his opening speech, Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 4 Col. Nguyen Huu Minh said the event aims to instill in officers, soldiers, and citizens a deep sense of pride and confidence in the nation’s glorious traditions, the army, the navy, and Naval Region 4, and honor all those who have sacrificed their lives to protect Vietnam's maritime sovereignty.
