Festival honors women’s role for peace, development

(VOVWORLD) -Over 1,000 people attended the festival "Hanoi capital’s Women for peace and development" at Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi, on Saturday, a key activity of Women Month in March, marking the 50th anniversary of national liberation.

The festival opened with a walking race, involving males and females aged 18 to 60. Other programs included the “Colors of Ethnic Groups” festival, an exhibition of handicraft products and traditional costumes from Hanoi’s craft villages.

Bui Thi Kim wears the Muong traditional costumes from Thach That District, Hanoi, said, "I want to showcase the cultural identity of the Muong people at this festival, including our traditional attire. We are so excited to introduce gong performances to the public, so that more people will experience the richness of Muong culture."

The festival seeks to celebrate the contributions of Hanoi’s women to economic development, foster creativity, and support the growth of the cultural industry, contributing to a civilized, modern, and culturally rich capital city.
