(VOVworld) – Indonesia has increased efforts to evacuate its citizens from Yemen, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi told a Wednesday press conference in Jakarta that a total of 792 Indonesians have been evacuated from Yemen, 770 of whom have arrived home.

She said there is a number of Indonesians waiting for evacuation in Yemeni shelters, including 89 people in Aden, 50 people in Sanaa, 200 people in Al-Mukalla, and 444 people in Tarim. The Indonesian government has asked all its citizens in Yemen to be ready for evacuation as soon as possible amid escalating violence between Houthi rebels and forces loyal to Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
