(VOVworld) – Vinh Long province held a meeting on Tuesday to mark the 40
th anniversary of southern liberation and national reunification. Addressing the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc appreciated the province’s unity and effort to heal the wound of war and overcome difficulties to strive forward.
He asked the provincial authorities and peole to promote its advantage for agricultural production, fulfill the new rural development program, and mobilize social resources for healthcare and medical services.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended a similar commemoration in Soc Trang city.
President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan attended a national reunification celebration in Dong Nai province on Monday. He praised the province’s achievements in improving people’s living standards. Dong Nai province has the highest number of new rural communes and is striving to become an industrial province.
At a meeting in Ben Tre province on Monday, National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan spoke highly of the province’s role in the national resistance war against the American army.
