(VOVworld) - Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Sunday that NATO is exaggerating Russia as a political threat to justify its actions.

Speaking after the NATO summit, she warned NATO against underestimating the negative consequences and risks to Euro-Atlantic security attached to actions by the US and NATO to change the existing balance of force by strengthening its anti-missile defense in Eastern Europe. Zakharova said Russia expects NATO to explain all of its actions at the upcoming meeting of the Russia-NATO Council on July 13. Russia also wants NATO’s opinion on Finland’s initiative to improve aviation safety above the Baltic.
