(VOVWORLD) -Within the framework of the official visit to Uzbekistan, on Monday, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, his wife, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, visited Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, one of the most prestigious and oldest universities in Uzbekistan.

National Assembly Chairman Man thanked the teachers for their efforts in teaching Vietnamese at the school, spreading the love of Vietnamese language and Vietnamese culture to the people of Uzbekistan. He said that in the context of globalization, Vietnamese and Oriental studies help better understand cultural exchanges, promote international cooperation and build a world of peace and mutual understanding.
“Students learning Vietnamese not only understand a language, but also discover a rich culture of a nation of more than 100 million people, with a tradition of resilience and creativity, friendliness and tolerance. And above all, you are contributing significantly to strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and Uzbekistan,” Mr. Man added.
Earlier, the top legislator and his wife had a short meeting with the University’s Board of Directors. He proposed boosting educational cooperation between the two countries, expecting that Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and major universities in Vietnam will promote student and lecturer exchanges, joint research projects, the application of technology in education, and cultural exchanges.
