(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong joined Vice Minister of State of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland Alexandre Fasel at a ceremony to mark the 45th anniversary of Vietnam- Switzerland diplomatic ties in Berne on Monday.

Phong recalled important milestones in bilateral relations while Fasel said Vietnam and Switzerland want to enhance multilateral ties on the basis of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) and the ASEAN-EU dialogue mechanism as well as within the International Francophone Organization (OIF).
The same day, Phong said at a forum on economic cooperation between the two countries that Switzerland is one of Vietnam’s important partners in Europe. She said Vietnam will step up administrative reform, improve its investment climate and competitiveness, and apply preferential policies for investors in Vietnam.
During her visit to Switzerland over the past few days, Phong met with the Vietnamese Embassy staff and other Vietnamese living in Switzerland.
