Prime Minister Sharma Oli laid wreaths at the ruins of a historic tower in Kathmandu, which was built in the 19th century and destroyed by last year’s quake. Hundreds of people gathered and spent a minute of silence to remember the victims. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake on April 25 last year killed nearly 9,000 victims, wounded 22,000 people and ruined 900,000 houses. Now, about 4 million people are still living in makeshift shelters.
