(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung expressed his hope that the newly accredited Brunei Ambassador to Vietnam will work closely with functional agencies to enhance the friendly relationship and cooperation between the two countries for the interests of their people and the establishment of the ASEAN community by 2015.

In a meeting with Ambassador Pengiran Haji Sahari Bin Pengiran Salleh, Dung asked the Brunei-Vietnam Joint-committee to organize the first meeting on measures to better tap their countries’ potential for development.
Dung repeated that Vietnam is willing to work with Brunei, Malaysia, and Singapore to boost the Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiation. He asked Brunei to work with Vietnam and relevant countries to confirm ASEAN’s viewpoints in the 6-point agreement on the East Sea, handle disputes by peaceful measures, abide by international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the law of the sea and the Declaration on the Conduct of parties on the East Sea, and try to finalize the Code of Conduct on the East Sea.
