(VOVWORLD) - Four Vietnamese provinces and China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region signed 29 Memoranda of Understanding on Friday to strengthen cooperation in various fields.

The documents were inked at an annual spring meeting between the provincial Party Secretaries of Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang and Ha Giang and their Chinese counterpart, Chen Gang, from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The five localities play a crucial role in realizing agreements reached by China and Vietnam’s top leaders, said Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council and President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) Nguyen Xuan Thang at the meeting.
He called for their effective collaboration in the 2025 Vietnam-China Humanistic Exchange Year and increased cooperation in education, training, science and technology, and transport infrastructure connectivity, adding that the localities should upgrade and open new border gates to facilitate trade between their businesses and people.

Meanwhile, the Chinese guest suggested maintaining regular exchanges, promoting coordination in development planning, and continue to implement cooperation agreements. He suggested expanding cooperation in new fields such as digital transformation and AI and establishing a China-Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Innovation Cooperation Center.
Mr. Chen said China is commited to coordinating with Vietnam in planning standard-gauge railway routes connecting Lang Son – Hanoi and Mong Cai – Ha Long – Hai Phong, as well as collaborating on cultural, artistic, and sports exchanges to strengthen ties and foster the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
