Vietnam commits to aiding cooperatives’ transition to green production

(VOVWORLD) - The Government of Vietnam is committed to mechanisms and policies that support and create momentum for the cooperative economy to grow in a modern and effective manner, said Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung at the 2025 national forum on cooperatives in Hanoi on Friday.

The forum discusses the transition to green production to help Vietnam move towards a green economy, sustainable development, and realize its net-zero commitment. Deputy PM Dung said that, in a rapidly changing global economy, green transition is no longer an option, but a requirement for all economic sectors.

He urged ministries, sectors, and localities to effectively implement preferential policies to encourage cooperatives’ investment in digital transformation and the research and application of science and technology.
“Doing so will help improve cooperatives’ production, business, and management in line with the Politburo’s Resolution 57 on breakthroughs in scientific and technological development, national digital transformation, and innovation. It will also help us form value chains and keep up with trends in green production, green economy, and sustainable development," Mr. Dung noted.

The event was organized by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA).
