The last 22 volunteers have received a second shot. Two received a 50mcg dose, and 20 getting a 75mcg dose. Researchers say Nano Covax has proven safe and effective against SARS-CoV-2 and its newer variants. Most of the volunteers are in good health following their vaccination.
The objective of the first phase is to evaluate the safety of the vaccine developed and manufactured by HCM City’s Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology JSC. In the second phase, expected to last for six months, 560 volunteers will be injected. The third phase, beginning from August, will involve 10,000 volunteers. If all goes well, Vietnam will administer the vaccine to the public in early 2022.
