Vietnam eyes 40 billion USD from tourism in 2025
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam's tourism industry is capitalizing on its advantages to earn 40 billion USD this year, according to Chairman of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh.
Thanks to an open visa policy and effective promotion efforts, Vietnam welcomed over 17.5 million international visitors in 2024, up 39.5% from 2023.
In 2024, the Prime Minister approved the planning of the national tourism system for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2045, providing the foundation for localities and agencies to improve tourism infrastructure.
"We have set the target of serving 23 million foreign tourists and 130 million domestic tourists, earning 40 billion USD this year. These are ambitious figures," said VNAT Chairman Khanh.
