The storm is forecast to sustain its strength and batter Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh provinces on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Phuc chaired an urgent meeting on Monday to mitigate the impact of the storm with wind speed of 135 kph, which may cause waves of up to 10 m. He asked the national weather center and its affiliates to provide quick and precise updates for storm Molave.
“Saving human lives is of utmost importance. I demand that local authorities evacuate people from high-risk areas and take those working on fishing vessels and floating villages to shore while fishing vessels must anchor to avoid collision,” said Mr. Phuc.
Prime Minister Phuc called for continued disaster relief and searches for missing people in five central provinces recently ravaged by heavy rain and flooding.
