(VOVworld) - The Vietnam Union of Scientific and Technological Associations (VUSTA) granted the scientific and technological innovation awards at the ceremony on Monday. President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan said the awards have acknowledged solutions of scientists and managers to national development.

He said Vietnam is suffering from the consequences of climate change with more severe droughts and salt intrusion. Technological renovations in agriculture to save water, create adaptable varieties, and improve cultivation methods are encouraged.
The organizing board awarded 40 studies in information technology, electronics and telecommunications, automatic mechanics, material technology, biology, technology for environmental protection and appropriate natural use, energy saving and new energy exploitation.
