As a result, several projects of interest to the US have been addressed within the legal framework and bilateral agreements, PM Chinh said while chairing a meeting with ministries and sectors on the adjustment of tariffs and fees.
Both the US and Vietnam have proactively promoted projects of shared interest and explored ways to ensure balanced, sustainable, and mutually beneficial trade. The PM emphasized flexibility and creativity in upcoming negotiations with the US.
“We must closely follow the directives of the Politburo, the Party General Secretary, the Government, and the Prime Minister and take into account the requirements of the US side when formulating response plans. Negotiations are the key to foster long-term, sustainable trade balance with the US but they must not affect established or signed international agreements,” he said.
PM Chinh stressed the need for a win-win solution in the spirit of “harmonized interests and shared risks.” Alongside with negotiations, it is crucial to diversify markets, products, and supply chains, and improve product quality, focusing on high-tech and green products, the PM noted.
