(VOVworld) – New ambassadors from Namibia, Lesotho, Papua New Guinea, and Burkina Faso presented their credentials to President Truong Tan Sang in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Welcoming Papua New Guinea’s Ambassador Peter Ilau to Vietnam, President Sang recalled his meeting with the Papua New Guinea Prime Minister at the Asian-Europe Economic Co-operation (APEC) Summit in Indonesia. He said Vietnam valued bilateral ties with Papua New Guinea and supported Papua New Guinea’s bid for ASEAN membership.
President Sang agreed with Papua New Guinea’s co-operative proposals and said that Vietnam was willing to enhance multi-faceted co-operation with the country, especially in the areas of agriculture, trade, and investment.
At the reception, Lesotho’s Ambassador Bothata Toane insisted that Lesotho wanted to strengthen bi-lateral ties with Vietnam and South-South co-operation. In the near future Lesotho wished to conduct foreign ministerial exchanges and co-operate with Vietnam in agriculture and forestry.
President Sang also hosted receptions for the Namibian Ambassador Ringo Abed and Burkina Faso’s Ambassador Ouedraogo Idriss Faoua. The Ambassadors said that they would do their utmost to promote bi-lateral co-operation in economy, trade, and the fulfillment of political commitments.
