(VOVWORLD) -More than 1,000 artists performed in the art program “Country full of joy” on Sunday evening in Ho Chi Minh City as part of a series of celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30).

The program attended by Party General Secretary To Lam highlighted the historical value of the 1975 Great Spring Victory, national solidarity, the aspiration for peace and independence, and the will to reunify the country. Heartfelt gratitude was extended to the contributions of the forces who fought bravely for the great victory.
The heroic tradition of the Vietnam People's Army was portrayed in the cause of national defense and development to enter a new era of national rise.

The program left a strong impression on spectators.
“I like history so when I saw the name of the program, I went to watch it. At home, I often listen to songs like “Aspiration of Youth”, “A Circle of Vietnam”, listen to revolutionary music, not just pop music. I am very proud. As we are celebrating 50 years of national reunification, I want to watch all the programs, including art performances and military parades.”
“I am participating in all activities from now until April 30. I think everyone who has lived and is living in Vietnam feel proud of this special event, a brilliant milestone of the Vietnamese people, when the South is liberated and the country is unified, so that our country can develop beautifully like today.”
“On April 30, 1975, we were present at this place, my unit was marching toward the Independence Palace. Today, I’m so moved. I remember the time when I set foot at this location 50 years ago.”
