Many countries reaffirm continued support for Ukraine

(VOVWORLD) - After US President Donald Trump announced a suspension of military aid to Ukraine, many countries reaffirmed their continued support for Ukraine.

The UK promised to help ensure peace in Ukraine. Speaking to the media, UK Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner said the British government is focusing on supporting Ukraine and is working to bring the US to the negotiating table alongside European partners and Ukraine.

Czech Defense Minister Jana Cernochova said she hopes Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump can find common ground as soon as possible and that Washington will restore support for Kiev.

South Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman Lee Jae Woong said Seoul is closely monitoring developments related to Ukraine. South Korea will continue to support the rapid restoration of peace and reconstruction in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the US halting military support for Ukraine “could become the best contribution to peace.”
