(VOVWORLD) - President Luong Cuong’s visit to Laos will generate new momentum for Vietnam–Laos special relations, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam in a press interview ahead of President Luong Cuong’s state visit to Laos from April 24–25.

President Luong Cuong’s visit to Laos is at the invitation of General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith.

Ambassador Tam said President Luong Cuong’s visit holds great significance as it reaffirms the consistent policy of the Vietnamese Party and State in treasuring the special Vietnam–Laos relationship as one of its top foreign policy priorities. The visit also underscores Vietnam’s strong support for Laos’ renewal efforts.

With an agenda covering many important topics, the visit is believed to create new momentum, significantly contributing to deepening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in a more substantive, effective, and profound manner.
