President Putin said that Russian troops should be prepared to reflect possible violations of the truce and provocations.
The same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine will observe Easter ceasefire proposed by Russia.
If Russia is now ready to truly engage in a format of full and unconditional silence, Ukraine will act accordingly, Zelensky said Saturday in a post on X, adding that he proposed extending it beyond the Easter day.
The European Union reacted cautiously to Russia’s ceasefire declaration, saying that Moscow could stop the conflict immediately if it wanted to.
