Since 1990, the US Congress has authorized the EB-5 visa program to attract foreign investment. This program typically requires a 1 million USD investment in a business employing at least ten people in exchange for a visa. Under Trump’s new plan, the "golden card" program will require a 5 million USD investment for permanent legal residency and a path to US citizenship. This program will replace the EB-5 visa.
Trump said the "golden card" is aimed at attracting wealthy individuals who will contribute to the US economy through taxes, investment, and job creation.
Trump also signed an executive order on Tuesday to increase transparency in healthcare costs, instructing federal agencies to strictly enforce a similar order he signed in 2019.
