(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and Laos agreed to effectively and comprehensively implement the Protocol on defense cooperation for 2025-2029 and the 2025 defense cooperation plan.

The announcement was made at a meeting in Vientiane between Defence Minister Phan Van Giang and his Lao counterpart Khamliang Outhakaysone on Friday, as part of President Luong Cuong’s state visit to Laos.
The two sides will maintain high-level delegation exchanges and defence policy dialogue mechanisms; raise public awareness and strengthen education on the history and significance of the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos; and enhance multilateral cooperation.
They are committed to maintaining the annual trilateral Vietnam–Laos–Cambodia defense ministerial meeting; improving defence personnel training; and strengthening the management and protection of the shared borderline
