(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam pursues a policy of self-reliance, overcoming difficulties through market diversification with regions around the world such as with the EU and Africa, Party General Secretary To Lam spoke to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who is on an official visit to Vietnam.

During a meeting in Hanoi on Wednesday, Party leader Lam said he believes that the visit will create momentum to elevate the Vietnam-Spain “Strategic Partnership towards the Future” to a new height.
Vietnam is also promoting the development and application of sci-tech, while increasing trade exchanges with partner countries and traditional friends, including Spain, Mr. Lam went on.
Both leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation in defense-security, agriculture, and education-training, while expanding cooperation to potential areas such as innovation, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and digital transformation.
They also exchanged shared stances on regional and global issues of mutual concern.
The same day, President Luong Cuong and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
