The event is expected to welcome over 500 leaders of ASEAN countries and partners, leading regional and international experts, ambassadors, and businesspeople. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech and participate in a number of side activities.
Acting Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam Trinh Minh Manh told the press conference on Thursday in Hanoi: “The forum seeks to establish a platform for introducing initiatives to shape ASEAN's development path and future. Hosting the event shows Vietnam’s active and responsible role as a member with greater potential and elevated status and prestige within ASEAN. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Vietnam’s membership in ASEAN, offering a chance to reflect on the nation's participation and significant contributions to ASEAN."
The ASEAN Future Forum 2025 will feature 5 official plenary sessions and many side events, including discussions on ASEAN’s cooperation for resilience and sustainability, ASEAN’s potential in a fragmented world, and a future-ready ASEAN, and mastering of the power of emerging technologies. There will be a photo exhibition on Vietnam’s 30-year membership in ASEAN.
The ASEAN Future Forum was initiated by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Indonesia in September 2023.
