Vietnam’s seafood exports top 600 million USD in February

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam earned 655 million USD from exporting aquatic products in February, a 44.5% year-on-year increase, according to the Department of Customs of the Ministry of Finance.

This brought the total for the first two months of this year to 1.42 billion USD, up 19% from last year. China, Japan, and the US remained Vietnam’s top aquatic product export markets, accounting for 52% of the total export value.

The International Trade Center says Vietnam was the second-largest supplier of aquatic products to Brazil last year, contributing 17% of Brazil’s total import volume and 8.7% of its total import value.

With Brazil’s growing demand for seafood, Vietnamese producers are seeing significant opportunities to expand exports to this market.

Experts also noted strong growth in seafood exports to other markets, including the Republic of Korea, Australia, Thailand, the UK, Canada, Germany, and Russia.
