Downtown Hanoi to host vibrant community activities in response Earth Hour 2025

(VOVWORLD) - Community activities related to the environment, climate, and energy will take place at Hoan Kiem Lake, in downtown Hanoi, this Saturday, as part of the ‘Earth Hour 2025’ kick-off ceremony.

Themed "Green Transition - Green Future," this year’s event is expected to attract thousands of participants through various engaging activities. Businesses and organizations in the energy and environmental sectors will showcase innovative technologies and products, reaffirming their commitment to advancing renewable energy in Vietnam.
One of the highlights is a creative check-in space, featuring a model of a traditional Hanoi house balcony equipped with a solar power system, symbolizing the push for renewable energy adoption in residential areas.

Art and interactive activities will also energize the event. A flashmob performance called “Green Movement” will bring together university students, particularly those from technical and energy-related fields.
A cycling-for-energy challenge will allow participants to experience clean energy generation firsthand. Special bicycles will charge phones and light up an LED display featuring event slogans. Prizes will be awarded to those who pedal the longest and fastest.

The event, organized by the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade and AT Media, in collaboration with the German International Cooperation Organization (GIZ) and the Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) under the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), will run from 9 AM to 2 PM on March 22.
Earth Hour 2025 aims to raise public awareness on energy conservation, environmental protection, and Vietnam’s transition to sustainable energy.
