(VOVWORLD) -21 gun salutes were fired at Merdeka Presidential Palace, Indonesia, on Monday, to welcome Party General Secretary To Lam, his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, who are on a State visit to Indonesia.

At 4:45 p.m. local time, the motorcade of General Secretary Lam entered the Presidential Palace amidst the vibrant sound of drums and trumpets. The Indonesian ceremonial team performed a traditional dance to welcome the Vietnamese guests.
President Prabowo Subianto came out of the car to greet General Secretary Lam and invited him to step up to the podium of honor. Indonesian children waved the flags of Vietnam and Indonesia to the two leaders. The military band played the national anthems of both countries.

Shortly after the welcoming ceremony, the two leaders had a private meeting and held high-level talks, where they discussed solutions to continue to preserve and develop the relationship between the two countries to a new height.
