NA Chairman pays tribute to heroic martyrs in Quang Tri

(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on Sunday offered incense and flowers to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery and Road 9 National Cemetery.

Chairman Man and the delegation observed a minute of silence, commemorating the great contributions of heroic martyrs who laid down their lives for the independence and freedom of the country and the happiness of the people.

During the resistance war against the US, more than 20,000 Vietnamese died on the Truong Son trail. After the country was reunified, the Party Central Committee and the Ministry of National Defense approved a project to build the Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery in Quang Tri province to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the Fatherland on the Truong Son trail.
